Well the Mercé has come and gone! I hope it was a wonderful weekend for you! It was for me!
It was Andrea´s first Mercé on her own, with her girlfriends. She planned her weekend and all the events she wanted to see. They were mostly concerts. She was so excited!
For me, it was a different kind of Mercé. It was a first for me too, though! I had the good fortune to accompany her and then come and pick her up after the concerts. It was wonderful to see her so happy!
Perhaps you can remember when your daughter had her first Mercé weekend!
Barcelona is a grand city and the Mercé is a grand celebration!

Summer is over!
Well August has come and gone!
It is hard to believe, partly because the days have passed so quickly and partly because it is still quite hot!
With this weather, it still seems like summer! :-)
My daughter and I had a great summer! We swam, canoed, travelled, read, fished, had some quiet time to relax, did some sightseeing, went quadding, spent time with some of my old friends and saw our family in Canada.
The only "not-so-good" part was breaking a bone in my hand and having surgery! But everything is fine now and I am recovering, so this is great!!!
What did you do?
Where did you go?
Who did you see?
Who did you meet?
What books did you read?
Write me a list of 10 different things you did this summer!
Remember to write in the past tense. If you need some help with the form of the past tense verb, check out this web site, ESL Blues http://ww2.college-em.qc.ca/prof/epritchard/pastverb.htm.
I´m sure it will help you!
All the best,
Theresa
p.s. Can you find the third person plural pronoun and possessive adjective? What words are these? Come back for the answer in my next entry.
